Teachers and Health Care Providers
The House of Music Therapy no longer provides adaptive music lessons. However, we DO provide consultation for adaptations in music education environments.
This services is specifically geared towards regular education teachers, special education teachers, music teachers, and any other health care providers seeking to add music stimulation to their routine.
You may be wondering... "what's the difference between music therapy and adaptive music lessons?"
The difference is mainly in the goals. While there are many health benefits of adaptive music lessons the goals are different from music therapy services.
Adaptive music lessons focus on learning the music. Music therapy sessions focus on enhancing non-musical skills.
They may seem similar but the different goals will have an impact on the approach of the service provider, tools used in the session, and style of music itself.
