Spring-themed music writing for children and their families | Ages 13+

In this series of group therapy sessions we will teach teens and young adults to practice self-expression, anxiety reduction, coping skills, and communication skills with peers through various methods of songwriting and virtual music creations. We will discover how artists write their own songs, various tools for songwriting and recordings (like GarageBand and FruityLoops), virtual music collaboration, and more! A few of the activities you may expect are: -Engaging dialog with peers -Exploring online music technology -Exploring songwriting methods -Lyrical analysis -Practicing new coping skills Songwriting campers will receive a blank journal and The House of Music Therapy therapeutic bag (for first time campers) in the mail. Various levels of participation are accepted & campers can partake at their own pace. *Medicaid members are eligible for this service and will be billed one group therapy session per meeting (four total.) The Family Empowerment (formerly Gardiner) recipients (and all others) will be billed $100 for all four meetings.
